Historic: The Ministry of Culture is promoting the first complete recording of Alberto Williams' symphonies

He was a composer, pianist and key educator in the development of Argentine academic music.
The initiative is led by the National Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Pablo Boggiano and Emmanuel Siffert.
The National Secretariat of Culture launched an unprecedented project for Argentine cultural heritage: the first complete recording, in audiovisual and sound format, of the nine symphonies of Alberto Williams (1862–1952) , a central figure in the construction of the country's musical identity.
Alberto Williams was a composer, pianist, and pedagogue who played a key role in the development of Argentine classical music . Trained in Europe, he integrated Romantic influences with elements of national folklore, laying the foundations for a distinct musical identity. He also founded the Williams Conservatory and was a central figure in the institutionalization of music education in the country. Amancio Williams (1913–1989), one of the most innovative architects of the modern movement in Argentina, is Alberto's son.
